Joy Masi is a documentary and fine art photographer based in the Philadelphia / New Jersey area, with over a decade of practice. Self-taught, she came to photography on her own terms, and that has shaped everything since. Her work is rooted in everyday life and the people closest to her, made with patience and an eye for what's easy to miss.

A Mobile Art Studio

In 2023, Bus 9 to Nowhere began as a mobile art studio and traveling documentary practice. It became a symbol of a particular chapter: making work on the road, finding stories in unexpected places. That chapter shaped everything that came after.
